Things to do in Hua Hin

The gulf resort had developed into one where visitors can either relax on one of the quieter beaches or enjoy the fun of banana boat rides or beach volleyball. Many of the nearby hotels arrange activities, but here are some of the water and beach activities to be enjoyed in Hua Hin

Horse and Elephants Rides:
It fairly unusual to see horses on a beach, but here in Hua Hin its one of the most popular activities. Equally popular are the elephant tides, so there’s a choice of animal to take you along the beach

Sea Canoeing and Windsurfing:
Both of these water activities have become increasingly popular and Hua Hin is now becoming a favorite place for windsurfers. The breezes which blow along this coast make it an ideal place to take a board out. The resort caters for both experienced surfers and beginners, who can take lessons.

Scuba Diving:
there are PADI diving courses in Hua Hin, although from the diving point of view the waters here are not as good as on the nearby islands. Trip out to these small islands of where the water are clearer can be arranged from the pier.

Beach Activities:
many of the hotels arrange beach activities such as volleyball, Krakao ( a sport practiced by Thai people and seen all over the country), and where many beaches are difficult o play on, the sand her is firm enough at Kariab Bay to stage football matches

Karting:
There is a Go Kart track near the airport, about 6 Km from the centre of Hua Hin. The karts vary from 13HP senior machines to smaller 6HP karts for children. There are also double seater karts so an adult can be with a child. The track is 750 metres long, with some challenging corners.

Golf:
This region has some of the finest golf courses in the country, so many golfers come to spend time at one of the quality hotels, and play the various courses around Hua Hin. There are six top quality courses and the Imperial course has recently been upgrade to include 27 holes with a variety of challenges. The six main courses are: The Royal , Imperial Lakeview , Milton , Springfield, Palm Hills and Majestic.

It is possible to arrange tour packages from Bangkok which will include transport (from Suvunarbhumi Airport if required) to Hua Hin, hotel and golf.

Hua Hin International Jazz Festival:
This major musical event has expanded over the years, and is held annually in June. The event attracts international artists who perform on beachfront stages. It’s all free, and there are jazz music workshops, product and food stalls

Kite Festival:
The Kite Festival has also grown over the years and now has an international following. Helped by the offshore breezes, the festival is a myriad of color, with no shortage of photo opportunities. Kite skills demonstrations, competition s and ‘kite fighting’ are amongst the attractions to the event .

It is fair to say that Hua Hin has grown over the years from a sleepy traditional Thai resort to one where almost any activity is available, without spoiling the towns charm. In some cases the activities are quite unique to Hua Hin.
